What is a bistable switch?
Bistable switch is a switch device with two stable states—–Normally close(N/C) or normally open(N/O). It’s used widely at elevator speed control systems, especially in the speed control of NICE900 and Panasonic door machine.
How to diagnose faults in your elevator bistable switches?
The bistable switch is one of the elevator safety protection devices. Once a malfunction occurs, it can affect the normal operation and prevent injury or accidents. In order to check the condition of elevator bistable switch, you need to take the following steps:
First, turn off the elevator power and disconnect the power switch.
Then, open the elevator control box and check if the appearance of the switch is damaged or deformed.
Next, use a multimeter to test the conductivity of the switch and ensure that it is in normal working condition. If the switch has a leak or is non-conductive, you must replace or repair it.
Finally, to get things moving again, let’s restart the elevator and check whether the switch is functioning properly or not.
